The Electric Souls are:

Scott "Slowcooker" Crisler - guitars, vocals
Paul "The Buffalo" Riopel - bass, organ, vocals
Jay "Wild Man" Hurt - drums

The Electric Souls' music is a cross between psychedelic, alternative and classic rock-blues influenced garage rock. We throw a little of the kitchen sink in for the fun of it, including tunes with influences in alt-rock, jazz, improvised jamming, atmospheric sounds, and good old fashioned straight ahead rock-n-roll.

The Electric Souls believe music takes you somewhere, "frees you up" from the daily static and thereby soothes your soul and mind.  We put everything into our show to do that.  At the same time, we like to improvise and thereby play from the soul.

The main group formed in 2004 and has been plagued by loss of drummers (like a bad Spinal Tap movie).  We are all out of many other bands and all from different states (CA, Texas, Kentucky/Ohio) and musical minds but found a common appreciation.  We've all done the bar tours with previous bands and cover songs that we delve into like a bag of chips when it feels right (a few of us have been called jukeboxes).  Our influences come from many sources and music genres.  Some main influential bands are The Beatles, British Rock in general, Cream, Frank Zappa, Jimi Hendrix, jazz, but basically it's anything played with soul from Dylan to Devo.  It has all melded into our own.
We've definitely got a little bit of a retro-groove going to some extent and the tunes are all based on the vibe and interaction with each other.  We are known to play the songs differently based upon the mood and like the freedom of experimenting and taking chances.  It's about expression and everybody in the band gets a chance to shine and solo.  We're also not some Xerox copy everytime you see us as we like to change things up and keep it interesting.  We have day jobs, most of us have wives and children but this is our passion that completes it all.  It's the well from which we come to drink to rejuvinate our souls.  The audiences seem to feel the same (or maybe they just like to drink...lol).

We can do an all original gig or mix in covers.  We prefer playing a few sets at each gig, but have played gigs that last up to 5 hours (including four sets with one set at times being more acoustic-oriented to get that mellow thing goin').

Our original songs include:

The Light, Glow, Conjure You Up, This Time, What was Ever Said, Above the Sunrise, Messin' Around, Inside Her Soul, Ghost of Mansion Hill, The Other Side, Ooo-Weee Baby, Muddy Moves, Sensing the Unfamiliar, Black Cat Love, A Little Bit More of That, Sky Rise, There For You, Don't Delay, Your Trip, Apollo G, and others.  Many are on our new upcoming CD due out this summer (2018).

The covers we will play include the following bands:

Jeff Beck Group, Robert Johnson, Willie Dixon, Oasis, Beatles, Rolling Stones, Cream, White Stripes, Jimi Hendrix, Neil Young, Spirit, Allman Brothers, ZZ-Top, Santana, Bob Dylan, Earl King, the Doors, many others (but actually no Devo).

We are currently promoting our newest CD "House on Fire".  See Cincinnati's CityBeat review in July 2006 on our Homepage and more information on our CD.  We will be releasing a new CD in the Fall of 2009.
